Meet Lia Wolfe

Licensed Social Worker

Lia aims to provide a safe and celebratory therapeutic relationship with emphasis on collaborative care and client autonomy. Lia approaches therapy from an anti-oppressive and abolitionist lens to unpack the wounds that materialize from systematic, oppressive, and social justice barriers. She believes in the power of the collective and individual healing as a key to the process for body liberation and self discovery.

A Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Lia specializes in disordered eating, and has experience in inpatient, residential, and intensive outpatient settings. Lia completed her Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Florida State University, followed by a Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health at the University of Denver. Lia has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy, and Narrative Therapy as well as a certificate in Integrated Behavioral Health.

In addition to her passions of eating disorder recovery and social justice, Lia has a passion for outdoor adventures. She spends her free time in nature rock climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and skydiving.

Cultural Resume

  • I have a lived experience of an eating disorder and know the shame and spiral of an eating disorder as well as harms of traditional treatment centers.

  • I benefit from inherent white privilege. I am also a citizen, able bodied, cisgendered, and thin-bodied.

  • I grew up in a military, Lutheran household with deeply rooted values of misogyny, transphobia, fatphobia, spiritual bypass, and white supremacy.

  • I am on a continued journey to actively unpack my privilege and act as an ally and activist for historically marginalized communities.

  • Tremendous gratitude to The Adaway Group for first introducing our practice to the notion of a cultural resume.
